Carlisle Winter Wedding Photography

It was great fun using the quaint backgrounds of downtown Carlisle, historic Dickinson College, and St. Patrick's Church.  The brick buildings, wide streets, stone archways, and colorful cafes all lend themselves well to photography.  If you have a wedding coming up in Carlisle, feel free to contact me so that we can walk around the town together and come up with great ideas for your photos! Reception was at the Carlisle Vault.

State College Senior Portraits

I recently had a senior portrait session that I was really happy with.  The student told me he was into something called Parkour, which is urban free style walking.  I knew that urban backgrounds would be the best for his style.  We shot at sunset and had some really nice light.  Here are a few from this senior portrait session.

State College Pet Photographer

Although I mostly do wedding photography, I'm looking to get more into pet photography in State College. I love pets, especially dogs.  I constantly take pics of my beagle Danny.  Some people really cherish their pets like family.  Those are the people I'm looking for to expand my pet photography business.  I love photographing pets because they are so naturally joyful, playful, and spontaneous.  Often the hyperactivity of dogs makes it quite difficult, but I love the challenge.  Taking portraits of people with their pets is so much fun compared to people alone.  Pet owners light up and become more animated and genuine.   Here is a link to a directory I am located...Directory for Pets, Dogs & Puppies - Here are a few of my favorite photos I have taken.

State College Portrait Photographer

I'm always looking for new, creative, and colorful ways to photograph models.  An opportunity presented itself to photograph a hula-hoop artist.  Hooping has become a popular flow art and lends itself well to music, photography, and cinematography.  It was Kayla's first time modeling.  We went to downtown State College.  There was a lot of direct sun, so we shot in alleys.  The shaded alleys had plenty of light reflected off of brick walls.  I used my Gary Fong flash diffuser to brighten up any unwanted shadows on her face.  Kayla used her prop in creative ways and I encouraged her to be as animated as possible.  We took plenty of stills in front of murals and also a few videos.  It was my first time taking video.  When it came time to putting the video to music, I was happy that I found music that matched the rhythm of  her hooping.  Although my bread and butter is being a wedding photographer in State College, I am really enjoying other types of portraiture.

A Wedding In Historic Carlisle

Even though I normally do wedding photography in State College, PA...  I also work throughout central Pa.  My most recent wedding was in historic downtown Carlisle.  The ceremony took place in the oldest church in town.  The reception was at The Vault.  I really love how the portraits turned out in front of the movie theatre and Lily's cafe.

Using Legacy Lenses On My Canon 6d

Although I'm normally a wedding photographer in State College, PA.  In my spare time I take pics of my beagle Danny.  I've always been a person that appreciated vintage and antique items. There's something about the hunt for hidden treasure.  With camera lenses, they have made some superior products in the past that work on some modern digital cameras.  I have only picked up one legacy lens so far.  I found it on ebay for $50.00.  The sigma 28-70mm 3.5 uc af.  I was intrigued because it had never been taken out of the box.  It was a brand new lens from the 1980's.  I'm not super impressed with it.  It does give error codes occasionally on my 6d.  This is a plastic mount lens that was never great to begin with.  The AF does work though.   Here are some pics I took with it.  If you want to buy it let me know, I'm looking for my next legacy lens:)
